Dog-Friendly City Guides | Four&Sons
Dog-Friendly is a collection of city guides for dog-loving people. For over a year, the Four&Sons team have been sniffing out the best places to explore with our pups by our side—from sprawling parks and tucked-away art galleries to stylish hotel suites and canine-friendly cafés.
Just like the magazine, the guides will feature a mix of beautiful photography, insider intel, maps and illustrations. Created together with long-time contributor, photographer Winnie Au, whether you’re a local or just passing through, these guides will help you discover just how much more fun you can have when your four-legged friend takes the lead.
Determined to live an inspired life alongside dogs, exploring our surroundings with them by our side, way beyond the local dog-run. Sometimes, especially in big cities, it can be challenging to know which places will welcome our four-legged friends. Bookstores, plant stores, design destinations, art galleries, cafés, hotels—you will be able to step inside our favourite spots with your canine companion for a closer inspection and a warm welcome—and sometimes even a treat, or two. These guides are not a comprehensive listing as much as a collection of insider intel including spots loved by fellow kintails friends Alessandra & Kira, Ashley, Luis & Yoko, Paul, Niko and Piper, Sophie & Stanley and many more, to help you explore these cities with your pups.
Everyone involved in the project is doing it for the love of dogs—and print. Teaming up with fellow enthusiasts, the small and mighty Hoxton Mini Press, who will publish the guides. As the authors, Four&Sons are responsible for creating all original content (writing, researching, photography, illustration, maps) and for designing each edition. That’s roughly: 20,000 words, 75 photoshoots, 40 illustrations, countless insider intel, and more than 50 happy dogs featured across 192 pages in each guide book.
To help launch these fantastic books there is currently a Kickstarter campaign to raise funds to finance all original content (writing, photography, illustrations), launch the collection with London and New York, and to get tails wagging for more cities to come.
