With so much to do it’s great to make a long weekend out of your visit. One of our favourite spots to stay is the beautiful Tides Cottage, a bright coastal cottage that overlooks the sea, with beach access straight from the front door.
Tides Cottage is situated directly on the sea front. It is a light, calm retreat which gives real respite and a feel of being away from it all whilst being in the heart of Whitstable close to local pubs, restaurants and cafes. The house offers a fluid living/sleeping space full of rustic charm and simple pleasures. Furnished with natural antiques and quality linens this is the perfect place to unwind with a book whilst watching one of the amazing sunsets.
The cottage is a great base to explore Whitstable from; to the right of the cottage is The Old Neptune Pub and to the left you can follow the beach to join the Saxon Shore Way. This 9 mile picturesque walk will take you along the Kent coastline which is packed with local wildlife to the historic picture postcard town of Faversham. However it’s equally lovely to stay put and sip tea in bed while watching the waves or, from the little front garden, see the sun slowly set.
