Pear and Apple Biscuit | Dog Treat Recipe
Ingredients
2 cups of spelt flour
½ cup of rolled oats
½ cup of oat bran
1 apple
1 pear
1 tbs of cinnamon
¼ cup of sunflower oil
½ cup of water
You will also need a small round cookie cutter
Method
Preheat the oven to 180C/160C fan/gas 4 and line a baking tray with non-stick baking paper.
In a mixing bowl, mix the flour, oat bran, rolled oats and cinnamon together so they are well combined.
Wash the apple and pear then peel and core them. Roughly chop and then add to a food processor or a high powered blender. If needed, add a splash of water.
Add the blended apple and pear mixture along with the sunflower oil to the flour mixture.
Start to bring the mixture together using your hands, slowly adding the water until it begins to form a dough.
The mixture needs to be a firm dough and not too wet (if the mixture is too dry then add a little more water and if it is too wet add a little more oat bran).
Roll the mixture out to around 1cm in thickness and begin to cut the biscuits out using the round cutter and placing on the prepared baking tray.
Bake in the oven for 15-20mins or until golden and firm
Transfer to a wire rack and leave too cool.
