Tell us a bit about your work and how it all started

I’ve run PR agency LFA Agency since 2013 managing the PR on behalf of great brands. Seeing the long-term benefits of PR first-hand I wanted to make PR even more accessible for independent UK brands who simply can’t afford the costs of a traditional PR agency.

In 2017, I created PR Dispatch as an affordable alternative and it is the UK’s first affordable PR platform dedicated to giving product-based businesses the tools, confidence and contacts they need to do their own PR. At PR Dispatch we have built a thriving and supportive community made up of over 200 brilliant small businesses pitching to the press and gaining coverage.

Tell us about Milo and how he came into your life

Setting up a business and being a PR freelancer could be lonely at times and I wanted to have a furry friend to keep me company while I was working from home and enjoy plenty of walks with.

I researched and looked into different breeds and quickly fell in love with the Maltese. I chose this breed because they have a playful nature and are great city dogs. I found a family in Wiltshire that had a small litter of Maltese Terrier puppies (Milo’ got a bit of Yorkshire Terrier in him) and the same week I went and collected Milo. I can’t imagine my life without him.

How does having a dog fit into your general working day?

Milo accompanies me pretty much everywhere, including meetings. He’s the company chairman after all.
In my home office he is usually under my desk chilling and sleeping (hard life!). He is lucky to have a bed in every room (bedroom, kitchen, office and living room) so that he is happy to move around with me.
He’s an introverted soul who enjoys his quiet time, but he’s very loyal to us and the people that he knows well and loves.

When you’re not working where do you like to head out to with the dog?

If you had asked me a few weeks ago I would have said dog friendly brunch spots in London, but we recently moved to Devon and here we’re exploring all the local beaches and costal walks with dog friendly pub stops. Milo loves running around on the beach.
Everyone here seems to have a dog and everywhere is dog friendly, which is so lovely! We are in the South Hams and all the independent shops and restaurants in Kingsbridge have welcomed Milo with open arms.

What essentials do you always have on you when heading out for a dog walk, and what do you carry them in?

What essentials do you always have on you when heading out for a dog walk, and what do you carry them in?
His lead, a coat for chilly days, and sometimes a dog carrier in case he needs a little rest – all from Mutts & Hounds. And tasty treats of course. Milo is currently enjoying some nice ones from The Dandy Hound (our favourite dog groomer in Peckham). I normally pop all his essentials in my backpack.

What adventures do you have planned with your for later this year?

A dog friendly winter staycation is at the top of our list. Maybe in Cornwall or Wales.
We always use Airbnb to find somewhere dog-friendly and have stayed in some amazing places through there. People furnish their dog-friendly Airbnb’s with bowls, beds and treats!

We’ll also be heading to London for a few days to visit the team and our office in Peckham Levels.
