Dog Owner Guides | Candles and Diffusers
Doggy odours are up there as one of the least favourable parts of dog ownership but obviously, we love them all the same despite their occasional stink. Aside from dog grooming, breath treats or other such methods when they’re a bit whiffy, we've found a good scented candle or diffuser will not only mask any unwelcome smells, they're also great for a keeping house shared with pets, smelling fresh. We also find certain scents have calming properties for dogs (and us too), which we often find particularly useful at certain times of the year. Discover our tried and tested candles and diffusers in our latest post.

Evermore Grove Candle
Made with vegan rapeseed and soy, we always pack this candle when we are staying away from home with the dogs. Burning off a scent of pine needles, eucalyptus, silver fir and a base note of earthy moss, it makes you feel like you are in the heart of the forest, which is truly delightful. It’s a really great all-round fragrance that seems to please everybody.

Malin+Goetz Neroli Candle
If the dogs are joining us for the day at our studio, we’ll always have one of these burning away, as the compact size of our studio can soon get stinky, especially if they've had a long walk beforehand. It's a refreshing and floral scent that combines all the elements of the citrus plant, without being too overpowering so it's perfect for the space.

IIUVO Bullshit
With its name, it would seem this luxury candle was made with dog owners in mind! It’s a fairly new discovery for us, and the smell is incredible and powerful – blended with top, core and base notes of Sichuan pepper, grapefruit, tangerine, lavender, rose, lily of the valley, musk, Tonka bean, vanilla and guaiac wood. If the dogs have come home soggy after a wet walk, we quickly light it to mask the pungency while their very own eau de BS dries and even if it’s not burning, it adds fragrance so our living room always smells delicious.

The candle is our go to scent when we’re at home in the kitchen baking dog treats. Hand-poured in London using the finest soy wax, Hopscotch’s Cedar + Pine candle has a sweetly warming and subtly-spiced musky scent. Plus each candle comes in a beautiful glass jar topped with a gold metal screw top lid, leaving you with the perfect place to store treats once the candle is finished.

Haeckels Chalk Room Diffuser
We have this diffuser set of etched chalk, essential Lavender oil and a brass plate in our bedroom, so that upstairs is a sweeter smelling sanctuary than downstairs where our dogs are free to roam. It has a really subtle Lavender fragrance that helps us relax and neutralise doggy smells. Chalk is a unique way to infuse scent into your home and to use, you simply place the chalk into the centre of the plate and dispense the oil into the bowl, so the porous chalk starts to slowly absorb the oil and release the scent over time.
